Veganism has become a popular diet and lifestyle choice in recent years, particularly among the health and wellness community. Ayurveda and Animal Welfare

Cows produce milk for the same reason that any other animal does: to feed their young until they are old enough to fend for themselves. Cows, like humans, do not continue producing milk unless they become pregnant and give birth, so they are artificially inseminated to keep producing milk.

Also, the cow-slaughter ban movement is the closest India has come to achieving national animal rights awareness. This agitation is led by a number of venerable Hindu swamis, and it is always a contentious issue related to the revival of Hindu values in India. However, the campaign has come to a halt.

The "Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act" was passed in 1960. It allows vivisection on lower animal species and only if necessary on higher species, warns against vivisection for teaching manual skills, and prefers alternative learning media over animal use in educational programs.

Ayurveda and Environmental Protection

Eating meat and dairy not only causes animal suffering and illness but also harms the environment. The majority of scientists agree that the environmental crisis we are experiencing as a result of greenhouse gases is largely the result of human activity.

Animal agriculture emits the same greenhouse gases as all cars, trucks, and automobiles combined. One-third of the world's water consumption is used to produce animal products, and our freshwater supplies are rapidly depleting. Approximately 30% of people lack access to safe drinking water. A plant-based diet uses far less water and is far better for you and everyone else.

We are depleting the oceans of fish and poisoning the waters with massive amounts of toxic animal waste dumped into them.

What Is The Relationship Between Ayurveda, Spirituality, and Veganism?

A philosophical underpinning of veganism is central to the Eastern philosophy of ahimsa the practice of nonviolence against living beings.
