Some foods should not be consumed with milk. Incompatible foods with milk can cause skin rashes, stomach problems, allergies, and other issues in the short term. Milk is a contentious energy-rich drink that is consumed at the start of life. Many people who know little about Ayurveda claim that milk consumption is not mentioned in the text. This is completely false. Many Ayurvedic texts proclaimed it to be mankind's ambrosia.

Most of the texts explain different sources of milk and praise their qualities and actions, particularly in the three primordial texts Chakara, Sushruta, and Vagbhata Sambhitas. Milk is one of the foods that are notorious for causing Viruddha effects in the human body, owing to its inability to be combined with a wide range of ingredients. An ayurvedic expert explains four milk combinations that can be harmful to our health.

Milk + Fruits

Blending fruits into smoothies is trendy these days, and they look great on Instagram. The majority of these fruits have a dairy base, such as milk or yogurt. According to experts, this can be disastrous for your health. Bananas, strawberries, pineapple, limes, and oranges generate heat during digestion. On the other hand, milk has a cooling effect. These fruits become sour when broken down in the stomach.

When milk and these fruits are consumed together, their opposed properties can quench the digestive fire. As a result, your gut flora may become unbalanced. According to the doctor, ama or toxins are produced in the stomach. Colds, coughs, phlegm, and allergies are frequently caused by combining milk and fruits.

Milk + Meat

Milk is a common ingredient in many continental dishes. The issue is that most of these dishes also include flesh foods such as chicken or beef. Furthermore, Ayurveda strongly discourages the combination of meat and dairy. According to Ayurvedic experts, milk is a complete food in and of itself. It is also a concentrated food, which means it is high in nutrients. To digest milk, the digestive system must work hard.

When combined with other forms of concentrated proteins, such as meat, it puts a lot of strain on the digestive system. In addition, unlike other foods, milk is not broken down in the small intestine's digestive tract. As a result, when there is milk present, the stomach does not secrete digestive juices.

Milk + Fish

According to Indian folklore, eating fish with milk can cause white patches on the skin. Is it possible? After all, it appears that there may be some truth to it. Ayurvedic medicine considers fish and milk to be sweet, but they have opposing potencies. The fish is hot, while the milk is cool. When these two are combined, ama can form in the body.

Toxins are considered the root causes of disease in Ayurveda. This lethal combination and the resulting ama can harm the skin, causing skin conditions. Furthermore, the two can cause obstructions in the human body's various channels, resulting in circulatory problems and heart conditions. Those with poor digestion should avoid this as well, as it can cause digestive problems.

Milk + Salt

Have you ever wondered why we always drink milk with sugar rather than salt? Because salt and milk have antagonistic (opposing) properties. When we use milk as the base for savory curries and sauces, we are unknowingly causing significant harm to our bodies. The negative effects of these combinations may not be immediately apparent in our system, but it may take years of poor eating to cause health problems. As a result, avoid combining milk with any of these foods.

Milk is a complete food that should not be combined with any other foods. It can heat your insides and delay digestion if eaten with radish. So, the next time you sit down to eat a snack or a meal, try to avoid these food combinations. Eat healthily to stay healthy.
